Ford Motor Company 6R140 Expansion Project

November 2008

ICE has been selected to help aid in the addition and expansion of the current 5R110W Final Assembly Line at the Ford Sharonville Transmission Plant located in Sharonville, Ohio to incorporate a new 2009 6R140 model type to run simultaneously along with the 5R110 models utilizing the same assembly line.

Lockheed Martin CTES Project

April 2008

Working together with DRS Technologies – Mobile Environmental Systems of Cincinnati, Ohio, ICE was selected to provide system controls programming and integration for the Common Transport Erector System (CTES) for the Lockheed Martin Missile Defense program.  The CTES project was compiled of two main pieces referred to as the Common Transporter and the Common Erector.  ICE was responsible for handling all controls related to the Common Erector which included an Allen-Bradley SLC 5/05 PLC, a Pro-Face GP-Pro handheld pendant controller, an AMCI Series 1500 resolver & interface module, Sauer-Danfoss proportional hydraulic valves, and various analog & discrete input signals used for tracking displacements sensors, linear transducers, and pressure transmitters.

Vought Aircraft Shot Peen Project

March 2008

Working in conjunction with Plan-It Material Handling of Cincinnati, Ohio and Pangborn Corporation of Hagerstown, Maryland, ICE was selected as the system integrator for developing the controls package to operate an overhead closed loop servo hoist system used for carrying aircraft wings through a Shot Peen surface preparation machine.  Ultimately through the collaboration of all three parties involved, the equipment was brought together and installed at the Vought Aircraft Industries Nashville, Tennessee location where it will be used on various wing and tail sections for a variety of different aircraft.

Main Carousel Upgrade & Expansion Project

January 2008

ICE has been selected to help with the addition and expansion of the current TKF Conveyor Assembly at the Behr Dayton Thermal Plant located in Dayton, Ohio to allow for the high speed production of the GM lambda 561 Engine Cooling Module Assembly.  Working together with Puritan Automation of Wixom, Michigan, ICE will be responsible for providing a new controls package for the Main Carousel, as well as, a separate stand alone station which will press the isolators onto the radiators prior to being loaded onto the carousel.  ICE is providing a complete turnkey controls solution which will include the design of the electrical and pneumatic schematics, panel fabrication per customer specifications and regulations, the interface of all corresponding equipment, HMI touchscreen development, plc programming necessary to bring it all together, and onsite start-up / debug support to complete equipment runoff.

ICE Goes South of the Border

June 2007

Working together with Steelmaster Transfer, Inc. of Oxford, Michigan, ICE was selected to provide complete controls packages for six new assembly lines for the General Motors plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.  These assembly lines will be producing gears used primarily in the new front wheel drive 6-Speed and Hybrid transmissions.  Of these six new lines, three are dedicated for Pinion Gears, two for Sun Gears, and one for Reaction Gears.  However, ICE is responsible for engineering each line to be capable of running multiple part types via on-screen part type selection, proper changeover procedure, and verification of associated machine compliance.

A New Direction

November 2006

After the addition of the Board of Advisors in 2006, ICE made the decision to begin undergoing controlled growth to expand beyond its current capacity and start focusing on Strategic Planning to carry it into the future. ICE has never had a sales force or done any type of marketing in its 20 year history. It has relied solely on its rock-solid reputation of providing quality engineering services, and a customer base that actively promotes ICE’s services to their suppliers or end users.

UL508A Certification

July 2004

While working in collaboration with B.C. Wilson, Inc. of Centerville, Ohio and the Nestlé R & D Center of Marysville, Ohio on the Dibs product line, ICE passes inspection and achieves certification as a UL508A facility approved for building UL certified Industrial Control Panels.
